BRITISH CADET COMPOUNDERS PUT 10 POINTS ON WORLD RECORD

France’s recurve cadet women also beat a world record during qualifying in Porec.

Great Britain’s Layla Annison (679), Lucy Mason (676) and Hollie Smith (664) scored 2019 out of a possible 2160 points to beat the compound cadet women’s team ranking round world record, previously held by Italy, by 10 points subject to ratification at the European Youth Cup in Porec, Croatia on 10 July 2017.

“We shot really well. It was quite tough and we had difficult ends but overall we managed to pull it through and score really well,” said Mason, who seeded third individually behind Elizaveta Koroleva and teammate Annison.

“We normally shoot together and we’ve spent a lot of time as a team training for this – which is great, because there’s always someone right there, with you, pushing you to get better.”

The previous world-best mark was set at an earlier stage of the same circuit in Marathon.
