Reigning Pan American Games Champion Roberto Hernandez of El Salvador delivered a four-day archery clinic in the British Virgin Islands on October 12-15. The initiative was supported by the National Olympic Committee of the Caribbean island.
“The clinic was organized by the British Virgin Islands, who contacted me mid-year, close to the World Archery Championships, we arranged everything and agreed on the four-day clinic”, said Roberto.
Initially planned just for compound archers, the world-number eight ended up working with both compound and recurve archers with aspirations to compete at a higher level.
“Every morning, we had a bit of theory, we spoke about all sort topics, which went from technical process, biomechanical analysis, sport equipment, tuning, training plan, strengthens, everything related with the development and growth of the sport,” he added.
A group of 10 to 15 archers attended the clinic each day, some of them after finishing school or university classes.
